Dr. Milind Kulkarni with an experience of over 9 years in the field of Chest medicine, Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS medicine is currently working at Columbia Asia Hospital in Pune. He has completed his M.B.B.S from MIMSR Medical College, Latur, Maharashtra and then went on to attain a Diploma in Tuberculosis Diseases & Chest Medicine and a certified course in HIV Medicine from College of Physicians & Surgeons, University of Mumbai. During his career he has played several significant roles like Chief Consultant, Senior Medical Officer, and Senior Clinician, and has gained experience in procedures like Thoracocentesis, Intercostal Drainage and Bronchial Artery Embolisations. He has been awarded with a number of scholarships from European AIDS Clinical Society and has actively participated in courses such as ‘8th Advanced HIV Course’ and the ‘3rd European Research Course’ in France. He has presented and authored publications on topics such as, ‘Tenofovir nephrotoxicity in resource limited setting of Western India: Higher rate of renal function decline, acute kidney injury and progression to chronic kidney disease compared to Western data’, which was accepted for 7th IAS conference. He has also attended and participated in a number of conferences on HIV medicine.
